About this Event
The Irish Support Agency is proud to be joined by a panel of preschool and school leaders to explore and explain the Australian Education System and how it works.
The interactive session will focus on Planning for School, School registration, School Calendar & Term Dates, Fees - Registration, Education & Equipment, Class Sizes & Extra-curriculum Insights, Before & After School Care, Feeder Schools, Catchment & Parish Areas and much more!
This is a free event being held on 26 August at 7 pm in the Gaelic Club in Surry Hills.

Dympna Kennedy
Dympna Kennedy is the founder of CreatingBalance a parent education and early childhood advisory organisation. She has presented for Resourcing Parents (Families NSW), The Early Childhood Association, The Australian Nanny National Conference, the National Conference of The Australian Infant Mental Health Association, Sydney Local Health District and assisted The City of Canada Bay on their 'Let's All Play Strategy'.
A co-author of two books; #Remote Working! when daycare and the classroom return home and 'Woman Leading', establishing leadership in the home. She is a recipient of the Family and Children's Services' Award for Excellence'. Originally from Derry, Dympna resides in Sydney with her husband and two sons.
Danny O’Donnell
Danny has been working in education for over 20 years. Originally from Donegal, he studied a Bachelor of Science at University of Wales, Swansea before completing a teaching Post Grad in Brunel University in London, moving forward to teach at a variety of schools in the diverse Borough of Brent over several years before making the move to Australia in 2011. Upon arrival to Sydney, Danny diversified by taking up employment at a Sydney inner-west high school teaching Special Education. He has since migrated back to the primary setting specialising in the upper years alongside mentoring teams and individuals in an executive capacity.
Nora Pieterse
Nora, originally from Dublin, is trained as a primary school teacher and has a Masters in Special Education. She has extensive experience teaching in both public and independent schools within NSW, working with children from pre-school age right through to senior high school. She has always felt a particular grá for working with the marginalized, disadvantaged and students who present with learning difficulties or special needs. Her current role is a Learning & Support teacher in a regional high school.
Angela Hegarty
Angela qualified as a science teacher initially and then, later on, made the switch over to the primary school sector. Originally from Westmeath, she worked in various school settings in Ireland before she made the move to Australia in 2006. Here she has gained experience working within both the public school system as well as the catholic. She lives in Sydney with her husband Enda and three young children.
